Edwina Findley
, most recently known as Tara Brown on FOX's New Amsterdam, began her theatre, dance, and music training at an early age in Washington, D.C. with such groups as Playmakers Repertory Company, DC Youth Ensemble, Ottley School of Music, and the renowned Duke Ellington School of the Arts. Edwina went on to graduate with honors from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Theatre and a minor in Africana Studies. A Dean’s List student, her work was distinguished with several awards, including the coveted Outstanding Artist and Scholar Award and the Founder’s
Day Award.

In addition to her vigorous arts and academic studies, Edwina was a soloist in the Gospel Choir, an active member of the prestigious Tisch Scholars program, and president and founder of the NYU Christian Artists Coalition.

Upon completing her training at NYU, Edwina burst onto the professional acting scene and hasn’t looked back since. She starred as gun-toting stick-up girl Tosha Mitchell for two seasons on HBO’s hit drama The Wire, then landed roles as Kim Evans on Law and Order: Trial By Jury, Reggie 3's battered Widow on the NBC pilot NY-70, Tina Brock on NBC's Conviction, and the kind yet crafty Nurse Messner on One Life to Live.

Theatrically, Edwina has performed Off-Broadway and at some of the nation’s finest regional theatres including The Shakespeare Theatre, The Kennedy Center, Baltimore Centerstage, Crossroads Theatre Company, The Studio Theatre, and the Cleveland Playhouse. Edwina has a special affinity for Shakespeare, and her classical roles include the Welsh-speaking Lady Mortimer in Henry IV, Pt. I, the feisty vixen Maria in Twelfth Night, the quick-witted Rosaline in Love’s Labour’s Lost, and the indignant Dorcas in Winter’s Tale.

Edwina also jumps at the chance to use her melodious Mezzo Soprano voice, and has toured musically throughout the U.S., Europe, and the Caribbean. She has appeared onstage with such celebrated artists as Nancy Wilson, Queen Esther Marrow, Denyce Graves, Karen Clark-Sheard, jazz icon Dave Brubeck, and worked with legendary choreographer-directors George Faison and Dianne McIntyre. She is currently collaborating on an inspirational album with friend and musician Emmanuel Blanchard.

Bearing names that mean “Valued Friend” and “People’s Victory”, Edwina has always had a special passion for the needs and dreams of others, the driving force behind her development of Abundant Life Creative Services. This vibrant company seeks to inspire, equip, and empower people of all ages to maximize their God-given potential through motivational and artistic workshops, inspirational materials, dynamic performances, and individual consultations. Edwina has personally conducted over one hundred seminars and workshops around the country, and has touched the lives of countless artists, teachers, senior citizens, and students.
